Volvodriver Food

I gotta be really honest here, until recently I wasn't really that interested in cooking food, chopping up stuff, handling and preparing raw meat, particularly chicken *shudders* then following recipes or experimenting with creating flavours and using techniques just didn't catch my fancy. I was always more interested in the after activities, that of course being the consuming of the food, the preperation was pretty much irrelevant, finding a place that prepared the best food, that was the ultimate goal.

However times have changed, I've gotten older and with that came the curiousity of how certain things are made, how different types of flavours were attained. Of course shows like My Kitchen Rules, MasterChef (all of variants), and even things like Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares certainly helped helped pique my interest in preparing food.

So over the last couple of years I've started playing around, nothing too fancy, things like marinades for the BBQ, making a great burger, doing a solid schnitzel, my version of a pizza dough, the perfect chip, and even a delicious salad dressing. Things will start off simple and small but hopefully, maybe, with the assistance of certain people we'll soon be churning out slightly more mature recipes like a Chicken Briyani, Lamb Rogan Josh, Tandoori items with out a tandoor, also things like layered cakes, cookies and other desserts.

Here's my attempt at a big mac, as you can see, the bun is not the same, but I just thought I'd give it a go, click here to see the method, and the recipe, including for the (in)famous mac sauce!
I've been hard at work, trying to perfect the hot chip, I don't think I'm quite there but, these are definitely good enough to put up for you to try!
